This course is delivered as a live online seminar. Once you enrol, you will join a scheduled session led live online, giving you a comprehensive insight into the individual processes of battery cell production. Working through a combined electrode production, cell assembly and cell finalisation station, you will follow a battery cell across each stage of its production. The seminar also explains the current challenges in battery production, and discusses the solutions and developments emerging from the German research landscape and the mechanical and plant engineering sector.

An introduction to the fundamentals of battery technology, from cell components to state of charge. Suitable for beginners, and a useful refresher for those with a technical background.

Virtual power plants, or VPPs, are an emerging technology with the potential to facilitate the shift from centralised to decentralised energy, provide additional income for battery system owners, and support network stability and system balancing. This online three-part sprint course is aimed at anyone interested in joining a virtual power plant, or anyone keen to learn more about how the technology works.
Upon completion of the course, participants will gain an understanding of the fundamentals of VPPs, the value proposition for participants, how to compare offerings from different VPP operators, and the challenges facing the VPP industry going forward.
The course consists of three videos totalling 15 minutes, with a short quiz after each video. There are no prerequisites for this course.
