About the Academy
Powering Australia is the federally backed Industry Growth Centre for clean-tech manufacturing. It exists to back the electricians, installers, and factory-floor workers who'll actually build Australia's clean energy grid.
The Battery Academy trains people already on the tools, in trades, warehouses, and workshops across the country, to safely handle, install, and maintain battery systems, from a home battery on a Tuesday morning to a grid-scale BESS site. We're helping support the future workforce, while upskilling the one already at work today.

Clean-tech manufacturing gives Australia a rare chance to build a resilient economy. The global market was worth A$2 trillion in 2024, and it's set to nearly triple by 2035. We have the critical minerals, the renewable energy, and a workforce willing to learn what it takes to compete for a share of it.
